Office 2003 PIA do not work for Office 2000
I developped an application that exports statistics via the office 2003
PIA's and it works perfectly. I deployed it onto a workstation running office 2000 and it failed. I am assuming the Interop's i used are not compatible with Office 2000 but i cannot find any components for Office 2000. I know there are some for Office XP and 2003 but what can i do to make it work on an Office 2000 workstation?? TIA, Ahmed |

Hi Ahmed,
I developped an application that exports statistics via the office 2003 PIA's and it works perfectly. I deployed it onto a workstation running office 2000 and it failed. I am assuming the Interop's i used are not compatible with Office 2000 but i cannot find any components for Office 2000. I know there are some for Office XP and 2003 but what can i do to make it work on an Office 2000 workstation?? I'm sorry, but you can't (reliably <g). Office XP was the first version of office to support being automated from .Net One thing you could try is creating your own IA for Office 2000 (by trying to set a reference in .Net to Excel 2000 for example), then compile a version of your app specifically for Office 2000 using that IA.
