I am trying to find out if anyone has developed an
effective way to automate the process of updating the paths to linked files in Excel worksheets? The situation is that we are trying to wean a client off of using mapped network drives. We want to proactively identify and, modify, paths that use drive letters in linked cells in Excel files. The ideal tool would be something that would (1)enumerate the file names which link to other spreadsheets (including the path to which they link), and then (2) provide a means to do a find and replace. Any suggestions for coding, or ways in which you had advised a client in a similar situation would be appreciated. |
