Default .TransmitAnsi does seem to work

I am having a devil of a time trying to figure out why
this .TransmitAnsi command will not copy its contents to
the mainframe field I have it pointing to.

Dim KISBN As String
Dim CISBN As String
Dim QTY As String
Dim COPS_DATE As String
Dim Screen1_Msg As String
Dim Screen1_Msg_1 As String

'DEFINE INITIAL NAME RANGES
Range("A2").Select
ActiveWorkbook.Names.Add Name:="KISBN",
RefersToR1C1:="=Data!R2C1"
Range("A2").Select
ActiveWorkbook.Names.Add Name:="CISBN",
RefersToR1C1:="=Data!R2C2"
Range("A2").Select
ActiveWorkbook.Names.Add Name:="QTY",
RefersToR1C1:="=Data!R2C3"

'Connect to Mainframe

'ENTER ISBN
With gobjCOPS
COPS_ISBN = Range("KISBN").Value
.movecursor 8, 32
.TransmitAnsi COPS_KISBN
COPS_ISBN = Range("CISBN").Value
.movecursor 9, 32
.TransmitAnsi COPS_CISBN
.WaitForEvent rcKbdEnabled, "30", "0", 1, 1
.TransmitTerminalKey rcIBMF6Key
.WaitForEvent rcKbdEnabled, "60", "1", 1, 1
End With
