Default Excel has encounterewd a problem etc

I am running some VBA code that compiles ok and I can step through OK.
I can run chunks of code, with a stop now and then, but If I try to ru
the code normally. I get a dialog box
MS Excel has encountered a problem etc.

Further details are Appver 8.01.5618 Modname unknown
ModVer 0.0.0.0 Offset 0013ec87

I am running Office 97 on XP home

Does anyone know what to do about this, because Excel exits I can'
even say where it is happening.

Thanks

Valte

Hi
Weird inexplicable error usually means you need to run Rob Bovey's
CodeCleaner. Search for it in this Group in Google for a location.
It's a great thing you can use every day, and twice on Sundays.

regards
Paul

Paul,

Thanks for your rely, I have used code cleaner without
fixing the problem.
I have programmed in vba for several years, and this is starting to
shake my faith in Excel. I am starting to suspect an incompatibility
between 97 and xp.
