Default Macro file format not valid

I am trying to run a macro on D:\ drive in Excel 5. I also have a C:\ drive
not partitioned which is running Excel 2002.

When I try to run a macro in Excel 5 that is not very basic I get the
following message:

Run-time error '1004';
Work03.xls: file format is not valid.

However if I have a very basic macro it will run.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated,

Roger
