Notation on Revision of Projects
Hi
Can someone explain why software often has "build" number as well as a "version" e.g. 9.3.02 Thanks Tim |

Tim,
The version number indicates which major release (e.g, 97, 2000, 2002, 2003) the software is, and the build number indicates which service release is in place (e.g., SR1, SR2, etc). -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "Tim Childs" wrote in message ... Chip
but sometimes the build number just seems to be an "unintelligible" serial number e.g 35783? thanks for feedback Tim "Chip Pearson" wrote in message ...
