![]() Hi folks, I'm writing a little app in VB and it is based on a massively complicated excel spreadsheet that I read and write to regularly. I therefore keep the Excel.Application object open hidden in the background. My question is this. Is there a way of protecting the application instance, so that when a user randomly opens any other excel spreadsheet when the program is running, the spreadsheet they have chosen to open does not use the invisible instance of excel in use by my program? The reason I ask is because by using this instance they make it visible, and can also close it......which results in my program dieing. Is there any way of doing this. Does anyone understand what I'm on about?
