Look, I set up an Excel workbook to import external data from an
existing QUERY file I made. This query file just specifies the name of the DSN installed on ODBC control panel, no any local path, etc... because I want this same Excel file to work just the same in another any machine that has the same file and DSN set up. But no, it seems that when I complete the import data process, Excel keeps in mind the path where the external file (it is a CSV text file) is, So If I move this CSV file anywhere from its original place, even If I redefine the new location in the DSN configuration... the workbook does not import the data anymore and gives an error. This way I cannot reproduce the Excel file with the refreshed data fmo the CSV although reached to install the same DSN and the CSV and Excel files in the remote computer... the Excel file in the remote computer keeps searching the CSV file in the old path even though his new DSN is well defined... What could I do to make the Excel file with the dynamic data work on any computer, with a DSN correctly installed ? Thanks ! Ignacio |
