Excel Macro Fails Accessed Through IE Browser
I am having issues with running a macro in Excel through
the Intranet.. I do not know if this is an Excel, VBA, Internet Explorer or other. I access an Excel page through I.E 5.5 or higher and run a macro. The macro will fail or not complete when run inside a browser. However, the macro program will run successfully when the file is accessed directly through Excel. To make matters worse, there are 300+ users who access this file (read-only) and some of them actually can run the macro through the browser, while most cannot. My code has been check and deemed okay and not the culprit, I want to know if anyone has any ideas on how this could happen? Everyone is running Win2K, Office 2K, security setting varies on all machines, but most are medium. The file is on a shared network drive with ready only access for the users. Most any macro will fail when run through the browser. Error 1004 is the error message I see. On Error Resume Next fix as described for Win95 is not an option. The Macro will run successfully when access directly in Excel, or from a very few number of users inside the Browser. |
