Default internet explorer (ie) issue with activeworkbook.saved (save prompt) AAARGH.

I hope that someone can help with this please.

I've created several links to excel spreadsheets from an intranet site to
open read only spreadsheets.

When the user has finished with the chart and click the back button or close
they are prompted to save as changes were made.

I tried to get around this by inserting the following code in the auto_close
macro.

activeworkbook.saved=true

This works fine when using excel but as soon as you open it in ie it doesn't
work.

Please help, about to go absolutley bonkers.

Cheers, Darren.
