Default tracking changes another way

I can't track the changes in my worksheet by making it shared, because I
have parts of it protected to prevent accidental data deletion and can't
turn off protection in a shared workbook. So, is there a way I could write
the changes I make to an Excel worksheet to a text file? I wouldn't want to
record formatting changes, just formula or value changes.

Thanks for any help,

Jamie
