Default Weird template/macro behavior ??

ok, I figured out how it happened (I think)
When I assigned the macro to a toolbar button, I let it
default to 'any workbook' and I had another workbook in
the same folder with an outdated version of the macro.
I'm still not sure how the macro disappeared from my
template but that is how it was executing ther macro in
another XLS file.

-----Original Message-----
Here is my situation:
I have an XLT template. When I open it there are no

macros
listed in Tools--Macros--Macros.
However, when I save it as an XLS, I can press my command
button and the macro runs.
The only place I can find the macro is in another XLS

file
in the same folder.
Somehow my template is referring to the macro in another
XLS file and this reference gets carried over when I save
an XLS based on the template.
I have no idea how this happened but how do I fix it and
prevent it from happening again.
I'm using Win 2000 and Excel 2000.
