Default Non-absolute named ranges

I have a multi column list, followed by a series of
separate worksheets referring to the data in the different
rows.
If I sort the list, however, the worksheet references
don't realize that their original data has moved to a
different column.
I tried naming each cell and having the worksheet
functions refer to the names but this results in the same
problem. The names refer to the absolute cell and do not
realize that the data has moved.
How can I make either a formula or a name reference move
with a sorting list?

Thanks for all your help!
