Default Simple Question

Michael:

I don't think it's possible to do exactly what you want (I've been working
with Excel for almost 10 years now, and I've never seen a solution to this
"problem"); however, you can insert the following function into any cell in
your worksheet:

=cell("filename")

The above will display the filename and path; although it won't,
technically, be in the header or footer. With proper placement, however, it
can look as though it is in your header or footer.

I wasn't sure where to post this but I seem to get great
answers from the programming newsgroup. In Word when
creating a header or footer I get the option of saving a
filename and path whereas in Excel for the custom header
or footer I only seem to have the option for the
filename. Is there a way to get the filename and path in
the header or footer? I find an old report and need to
look all over my hard drive for the file. Anyone have any
idea how to get the path in the header or footer? Thanks.
Michael
