You can do that now with the following macro:
Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) Cells.Interior.ColorIndex = 0 Target.Interior.ColorIndex = 36 End Sub Note that this macro must be placed in the sheet module of every sheet you want this to work on. To access that module, right-click on the sheet tab, select View Code, and paste this macro into that module. "X" out of the module to return to your sheet. Change the number of the color to suit.
