How do I find out why it won't save?
When I try to save my workbook I get an error message telling me that 'Excel
could not save all the data and formatting you recently added to this document' To return to your workbook without saving it click Cancel, If you want to continue saving changes without repairing click OK So I click OK, but I'm worried when I close the page my changes haven't been saved, although they appear to have saved OK. Clicking Help brings up a blank help page - not very helpful!! Any ideas why it might be doing this? |

How do I find out why it won't save?
I am having the same problem. (and i think we are on our own!). Were you
able to find any help on this? I am trying to identify what caused it. The first time this happened, it was right after I added a sheet to the workbook. I deleted the sheet and it went away. The second time it happened, i had been working on validation. Any similarities???? How do I find out why it won't save?
It seems to be linked to validation. When I try to add more validation, it
will not save. I have been loosing the data, and have been unable to save this portion of my work. I found another post. Read below. According to the KB articles and a little "googling" Excel should allow me 2,050 rows of conditional formatting. However I cannot seem to get anywhere near this figure! I have conditional formatting applied across 15 columns and have tried to extend this down approx 1300 rows. However as soon as I hit row 170-200 I get the above error message. Should the KB article read that the error message applies when 2,050 CELLS have been used instead? Is there a limitation on merged cells/Validation that I should factor in that could be affecting this [as I am using those as well] Thanks for any help in advance!
