Default Standby in Excel

Lillian,

The problem is the top (lid) to your laptop. You have it too close to
being closed. Go to Control Panel, and then open Power Options. Click
on the Advanced tab at the top. Under Power Buttons, the first option
is "When I close the lid of my portable computer". If you have the
option "Stand by" selected, and you put the lid of your laptop too far
down (too close to being closed all the way), it tries to go into
Standby mode. Just raise the lid of your laptop a little bit and you
will be fine. OR - change the setting in Power Options to "Do
nothing".

Everytime I want to get from one sheet to the next, I hit
Control and Page Down at the same time. But instead of it
going to the next sheet, my computer switches to Standby
mode. Any idea how to disable this?

The OP stands a better chance of seeing your suggestion if you post it as a
reply to her original post instead of starting a new thread.
