Use validation in DATA
i.e: data / validation in allow select LIST & you make your list elsewhere in your worksheet & in the data field select the list. You can hide your list later. Thank you that did the trick. Why can't the help menu make that simple?

Which version of Excel are you using? Excel 2002 and 2003...................
