Default What is this Date problem?

I'm typing a date into excel like I did loads of times in a UK date set
column. Suddenly Excel isn t formatting dates or else it stays changing them
to US.I tried setting Windows' Language Settings and reformatting the
column's cells but both didnt work.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

Double check that in Windows/REgional settings that the format of the short
