Default Sharing data between worksheets (auto-update)

Running Excel 2003 - not much experience in linking data - hoping someone can
help....

Sheet 1 is a transaction log - 1 per line, in several columns...
Sheet 2 needs to show columns A-C, F,H,I,M,N from Sheet 1, and allow
additional info to be added into O-T (not on Sheet 1)

I need Sheet 2 to be updated each time a new transaction is posted on Sheet
1, without having to re-key the info.

All help appreciated!

I think a single example will show you pretty much all you need to know:

On Sheet 2, click in cell A1 then type in an = symbol and then click Sheet 1
and click cell A1 on that sheet and press the [Enter] key.

That's the basics of it. Now, from that point you can grab the lower right
corner of cell A1 on Sheet 2 and extend that formula both to the right and
down the sheet so that other cells from Sheet 1 are echoed on Sheet 2. You
could extend that all the way over to column N and down as far as you need to
go on the sheet, then choose columns you really don't need to be echoed (as D
and E) and just [Del] their contents on Sheet 2.

Continue extending the formulas in columns A-N on sheet 2 down the sheet as
you keep adding entries on Sheet 1.

There are several ways to extend a formula like that, here's how with the
mouse, presuming you've got the formula in A1 to begin with. Move the mouse
towards the lower right corner of cell A1 until it changes from the fat PLUS
symbol to a thin + symbol. Press and hold the left mousebutton and drag in
any direction (up, down, left, right, diagonally) to extend the formula.
Excel will automatically change cell column/row references for you.
