Default If problem

Can you tell me what's wrong with this formula please

=if(sheet1!A2<"",sheet1!a2,"")

that is (being in sheet2)
if there's a value in A2 on sheet1
copy it/reference it on sheet2
if not, leave blank.

Many thanks,
Suzanne

Nothing wrong with the formula, but of course you'd get a very similar
result with the simpler formula =sheet1!A2, as you're putting a blank where
you're finding a blank.
