Default Disappearing text

If I reformat text in a cell in any way (e.g., change font to bold), the text
becomes invisible after I move to another cell. Font color is black. The
text is visible in the formula bar and in print-outs, but not on the monitor.
Anyone know what is going on?

Maybe a Change-event macro is coming into play. Try opening the file with
macros disabled to see if there is any difference.

Does the same file act the same on another computer?
