Default 2007 Excel Chart Problem

Issue: adding data sources from multiple worksheets and workbooks

Description: I have tried to add additional curves to an existing chart
through the "Edit Data Source" dialog box. I can successfully start the
addition process and select the correct sheet (or workbook); however, at that
point it will not allow me to select a range of cells. I can manually type
in the range of interest but it becomes very tedious when adding more than 1
or 2 curves especially with mismatching ranges.
