I am hoping that someone has had experience using MS Excel worksheet
protection and also uses MS Visual Source Safe (VSS) as a document
repository.

I have created a new Excel Sheet which has an selection of columns
protected because I need to send it to a vendor and want to protect it
against modification. I have tested it and can protect and unprotect it
with a password.

When I dump it into VSS which is linked to our extranet, the unprotect
sheet option in the Tools menu is no longer accessible (grayed out).

Does anyone know if there is a way around this or if VSS someone
disables this functionality.
