Hi Barbara,

You don't give your formula or any details at all.

Check that Calculation is on, I can't imagine that you would get a sum
of only last number but Tools , Options, Calculation (tab), automatic

Are all of the numbers that are to comprise the sum numbers,
Text is aligned on the left size by default, and numbers re aligned on the right by default.
But the real test is to use function =ISNUMBER(B2)

The SUM function will ignore text data. If you use formula like =B2+B3+B4
and have text data you will get an #VALUE! error.

If you have text instead of numbers possibly you obtained the data from HTML and
have other characters there that might appear to be spaces, often a non-breaking
space CHAR(160) which may be entered as   in HTML. See

Please use a descriptive subject title when posting. This is an Excel
newsgroup and the word Excel in the subject has very little meaning.
The subject title should describe the problem, a properly worded question
describing what is wrong, what you tried, what you epected, what you go instead,
and a descriptive subject helps those that look at newsgroup postings using
Google Groups search.
