Move Word form to Excel
Hello,
I have 9 page outline-bulletized questionnaire / form in Word with drop down lists, text boxes, and check boxes. I've explored Excel's 'form making' abilities and the data validation and really like the ability to manipulate the replies/answers (sort, filter, etc.) and the ability to do it quickly and comparatively painlessly. I would like to migrate the 9 page Word form into Excel. I recognize that the text boxes and drop down lists won't survive the move, but is there away to move the bulletized list while retaining the indents and other formatting features to Excel? I've tried copying from Word to Notepad, saving it there, and then opening with Excel, but the numbers, letters, are all left aligned. Any solutions / ideas? Many thanks in advance, MJohn |

Move Word form to Excel
Alternatively, a macro that would pull out all the user entered data from the
9-page Word file and drop that into a selected column in an Excel file...would (maybe?) be easier? Again, thanks ahead of time, MJohn "M John" wrote: Hello, I have 9 page outline-bulletized questionnaire / form in Word with drop down lists, text boxes, and check boxes. Move Word form to Excel
I've never used this, but someone (I think Debra Dalgleish) once suggested just
saving the data in MSWord. Inside MSWord (with your document active): tools|options|Save Tab|Check "Save data only for forms" This is from MSWord 2003's help: Save data only for forms Saves the data entered into an online form as a single, tab-delimited text file in plain text format. You can then import the contents of that file into a database for analysis. It sounds like that's what you want. If you have trouble implementing this, you may want to ask in one of the MSWord newsgroups.
