Default Column name in MS Query

Hi all !
I need some help with SQL in MS query.
How can I specify column names for data retrieved from a database ?
SELECT something (I'd like to add a column name here) FROM table WHERE ...
I have an Informix database and I can't specify a column name for the data
retrieved from a database ...

I hope you understand my request.
