Default how do I import data from oracle version 7 to excel 2002

When attempting to import data from Oracle version 7 to Excel 2002, I get the
message ORA-12504: TNS:listener was not given the SID in CONNECT_DATA --
This same tnsnames entry works to conect to the database through SQL
Navigator so I know the entry is correct. What is going on? Thanks for any
help.
