Default How do I cut column back to first 2 characters? Thanks

After pasting data into a new Excel column, I need to limit the new Column to
first 2 characters only.

You may not need to paste at all

Assuming the data you want to copy is in column A:

In cell B1 enter the formula =Left(A1,2)

Copy this down as many rows as you need.
