![]() Tom, Using a helper column in the 4500 row sheet, do a vlookup back to the 900 row block =VLookup(A1,B1:B900,1,false) and the ones that work are the ones you need to delete. Sort over this column and delete the 900 that are not #N/A then re-sort over your part number. Hope this helps. -- Tom Wrote: That was a poor example... heres the story I have got over 4500 rows containing stock info - column 1 being the stock code (numeric), the column 2 stock description etc etc. Of those '4500' stock codes I have got '900' on a separate spreadsheet, I need to match those numbers up against the '4500' on the other... therefore having two coloumns next to some items with the stock code. I can then delete those and be left with the '3600' that I didn't have the code for... This is probably pretty standard but how to I sort columns containing the same data but in different orders. eg. Column A has 1-10 listed in ascendinf order, and column B has them listed in descending order, how could I sort them so that 1 and 1, 2 and 2 etc pair up? -- Bryan Hessey ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bryan Hessey's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=21059 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=538797 |
