A file, any clue as the the filetype?

Have you tried to rename it to a .zip or a .rar to open it?

If you open it in Notepad what are the first 6 characters within the
file?

Any other clues?

BINHEX4 is an old Macintosh protocol. Stuffit Expander (free:

for Mac, or

http://www.stuffit.com/win/expander/

for Win) works fine on either a Mac or Win machine.

BinHex13 is a shareware app for Windows - you can find it by googling.
