Hi Ben,
If you mean a toolbar button see
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/toolbars.htm

For a shape, you would right click on the shape and assign a macro

For a form, you would right click on the button and assign a macro

Thanks for responding, I probably did not make myself very clear. The kind
of button I referring to is one that I place on my spread sheet by drawing
its shape and then assign a macro to it. It is a gray rectangle and by left
clicking gives me the option of assigning a macro to it.Thanks David,
Ben
