Excel Logic Statements
Hello All, I am wondering if anyone has any ideas I can do to complete a project. What I am making are some databases that are payout sheets for a racetrack that I work for. I have 4 types of cars, up to 8 payout sheets and 4 "sheets" that list all the drivers for the current year. What I want to be able to do is, when I input the driver number into the field for the car numbers I want it to look through the sheet predetermined for the car type, and insert that drivers name into the space for the name. If I am unclear, I am sorry, ask some questions and maybe I could make it more clear. Thanks, Jared -- Leach ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Leach's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=33830 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=536069 |

Excel Logic Statements
The glitch in what appears to be a simple VLookup task is the statement
"look through the sheet predetermined for the car type". Do you have a field or cell that gives the car type? Or simply, how do you expect Excel to know in what sheet to look? Or is every car number unique? HTH Otto "Leach" wrote in message ... Hello All, I am wondering if anyone has any ideas I can do to complete a project. Excel Logic Statements
Each car will have a single, unique number. That should not be an issue, to determine the sheet that excel should look in, I was hoping I could define that in the logic, like for the class 360 I will have a separate unique sheet, for the class of "Modifieds" I will have a separate sheet.
