Our office uses a spreadsheet to track test times. I would like to format
the cell to automatically insert the colon when I key (from the number pad) a time such as 08:37. I tried to format the cell with Format, Cell, Time, Type (13:30) but it returns 00:00. Thanks for your help. |

Formatting the cell hh:mm does not keep you from having to type the colon.
If you omit the column, Excel treats your number as 837. HTH -- AP "Bonnie F Moore" <Bonnie F a écrit dans le message de ... Our office uses a spreadsheet to track test times. Check out Ron de Bruin's QDE(quick date entry) Add-in which allows entering times and dates with separators. http://www.rondebruin.nl/qde.htm Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Tue, 25 Apr 2006 06:56:02 -0700, Bonnie F Moore <Bonnie F wrote: Our office uses a spreadsheet to track test times. Thanks for the clarification Ron and kudos to Bob, Frank and Norman for their
assistance with that project. You can tell I have not used the QDE add-in or I would have known it "doesn't do time" Gord On Tue, 25 Apr 2006 20:40:01 +0200, "Ron de Bruin" wrote: Hi Gord Not only me(Bob, Frank and Norman also) It is only working for dates For time see http://www.cpearson.com/excel/DateTimeEntry.htm Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP |
