Default MS Word and Excel "save as" will not drill down

When I click "save as" and then try to select a folder, the hour glass
appears and nothing moves from that point. I have reloaded the software.
Thanks.

Scroll down to near the bottom of the list--find #383.

On the righthand side is:

It's a link to a .vbs (scripting file) that updates the registry to fix the
problem if it was caused by the HP software.
