Default Protecting Excel file to prevent changes

Is there a way to protect an Excel file such that no one can make any changes
to the file without knowing the password? Or, make the file read-only for
everyone except me?

I appreciate your help.

Under filesave as, click tools, general options and you can select password
to modify
