can you super impose a letter over the center of a block of four cells? The 4
cells are also set up as a dotted line grid.

You can chose 'centre over selection' in the alignment section of cell
formatting - does this help?

Yes - highlight the cells and click on the Merge and Center icon on the
toolbar. Then to Format/Cells/Alignment and change the Vertical to Centre.

I tried vertical center & center across selection and the horizontal center,
It only centers across the top 2 cells instead of the connectign 4 center
corners. Thanks

Hi - make sure you highlight all 4 cells, then use Merge and Centre. After
that you can centre vert and horiz, but the cells have to be merged first.
