Default excel "runs" slow

excel runs slow when doing anything basic like moving from one cell to the
next.
this happens on both my home and office computers. both are running excel2003.
any clues?

Default excel "runs" slow

No idea. But open Excel from Start-Run by entering "Excel.exe /s" (no
quotes, space before the slash). This opens 'pure Excel' - no add-ins, etc.
If basic stuff operates normally (not slow) then it may be an add-in or
something else being loaded automatically at startup that it causing the
slowdown.
