Default Locking down excel for Deployment

Hi,

I have a couple of annoying miscellaneous problems. Basically they all
revolve around the fact that I need to deploy a VBA Spreadsheet to
senior management and I want to hide the "excelness" of it and stop
them from easily updating it - we all know what a disaster it would be
if senior management could actually do something :) ...

I can hide the formula bar, but I can't get the app to turn it on
again. Even when I debug over the line it won't switch back on. If I
execute the same code "immediately" it works.

I would like to avoid the locking message when multiple people open the
same workbook. I thought I could use the /r (read-only) option in the
command line when invoking excel... but it doesn't work.

I can turn off the toolbars (I log the bars to a secondary sheet and
re-enable them when the app finishes). However, it seems a bit ad-hoc.
I would like to be able to turn off toolbars for the session, but not
to have it persist once excel has been terminated. Any ideas?

I'm thinking these problems must plauge many developers. I'd welcome
any assistance.

Many thanks,

Geoff
