Using Excel 97 I have a data validation Drop Down List which works fine.
However when freeze panes is selected and the cell with the drop down
list is in the frozen bit the drop down list ceases to function. Any
suggestions to overcome this.

Dav, if I remember right there was a bug in 97 that validation and freeze
panes did not work together

As Paul said, this is a problem in Excel 97. Instead of Freeze Panes,
you could use WindowSplit, and the data validation should work correctly.
