Default Move excel file to desk top?

Close Excel
Open windows explorer.
Go to the drive and folder that holds your workbook.
right click on it and choose Cut
minimize everything so you can see the desktop.
Rightclick on an empty spot and choose Paste.

An alternate suggestion.
Don't put the file on the desktop. Put a shortcut to the file on the desktop
and leave the file where it is.

Sometimes, you can clean the desktop and through the file away by mistake. If
you through away the shortcut, your real file is still safe.

If you want to use this technique:
Close Excel
Open windows explorer.
Go to the drive and folder that holds your workbook.
right click on it and Send to|Desktop (create shortcut)
