Excel 2000 (9.0.6926 SP3) spreadsheet getting bigger & bigger ....
Everytime I move, copy, format data my response slows down & the file gets
bigger. It shoukd be between 500k & 1meg but now has mushroomed to around 12meg & response is almost non-existent. I have 15 worksheets in this file, of varying sizes. Any suggestions anybody? Thanx in advance. |

Hi Leath,
see Why do my scrollbars go to row 500 -- my data ends in cell E50?, contextures.com, Debra Dalgleish http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqApp.html#Unused install and run the macro under that topic, forget about doing it manually the macro will do it correctly and will fix the entire workbook. You should use File, Save when the macro completes. .. If not familiar with macros see. Getting Started with Macros and User Defined Functions http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm That should fix the size. Some other problems with speed and response can be addressed in Slow Response, Memory Problems, and Speeding up Excel http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/slowresp.htm --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "Leath" wrote in message ...
