I was trying to save a file and the "prompt" said, would you like to replace
and I accidentally hit yes....am I able to recover that file to it's original state. |

Unless you have a backup, that overwitten version is gone.
May be recoverable using some expensive third-party file recovery application. Have no experience with these so cannot advise. Is it possible you have a backup that you don't know about.

if you are on a network, you can restore from the last
