Default Excel workbook opens a new workbook

Hi all,

I tried asking this question on a different forum and didn't get a
reply and am hoping someone here can help me. Here recently I have
noticed that when I open a workbook named (Monthly), another blank
workbook (Book1) opens also, This happens on any of the files I open,
what can I do to stop this second blank workbook from opening. I don't
see anything in the Options menu that would turn it off.

Thanks,

Larry
