Default excel import external data wizard

I have a few access databases at work and i linked into one of them via
dataimport external datanew database query. This allowed me to select
a pre built access query to pull in data.

Ive found when trying to access some other access databases that it
will show me the tables and quer's but when i click the + sign to view
the available fields it wont present them it just changes the + to a -

Ive attached a acreen print as an example of when it does work to give
an idea of what im trying to eplain.
