Can I automatically extend formulas to added lines in Excel 2002?

When I add new lines to expand a worksheet, existing formulas do not extend
to the new lines. I have the Tools/Options/Edit 'Extend List Formats &
Formulas' box checked. Should this happen automatically?

Yes it should. But it doesn't happen when you insert the row, but rather it
happens after you enter the data in the new row.

Thanks very much. I've actually had that happen in the past after I entered
data, and didn't know why. But I am working on a new spreadsheet, and
nothing I try seems to extend the formulas, even entering data - I'm still
stumped.

Me too. I guess I'd have to see the worksheet or a snippet of it that has
the problem. MS did document how auto extend works if you want to sleuth
further:

Thanks again - I'll give that a try.

Can I automatically extend formulas to added lines in Excel 20

That support side helped a lot - thanks for the tip. I found a couple of
other things there too. My worksheet is still erratic - works sometimes, and
not other times. The support site suggests it could have to do with the way
the above cells are formatted, which I don't want to change. But at least I
(probably) know why.

Thanks again.
