Calculated Items in Pivot Table
It seems that Excel calculates all possible permutations or a calcuation.
For example: Region Person Budget Actual Variance (calculated) North John 10 5 -5 North Peter 10 6 -4 East Mary 15 16 1 East Sue 15 14 -1 In the Excel pivot table, there are entries for Mary & Sue in the North (even though there is no such data). The calculations are blank, but the worksheet quickly becomes confusing. Is there a way to filter out these "nonsense" permutations? |

You can manually hide the rows, but there's no built in way to supress them.
