Default problem in Excel's VB Help

I have a user that when he opens the VB Editor Help in either Excel or Word,
he cannot do any searches as his cursor changes to a horizontal double arrow
in the input fields. I've only found 2 mentions of this on the net... one
said this happens if the app is launched through IE, kill msohelp process,
but not the case here... the other was a posting on a usergroup that was
never answered. I've done a detect and repair and tried Excel in safe mode.
ideas?

I get this quite regularly, and I don't run IE. This indicates with the help
process though.

Go to the task manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del), select the processes tab, then select
MSOHELP.exe in the list. Hit the End Process button.

Back in VBIDE restart help, it should be okay tyhen.

MSOHELP.exe wasn't on the process list, sorry, I should have made that
clearer. I didn't see anything on the process list that jumped out at me as
unusual.
