Each time I open an excel file the circular reference screen pops up. It
references cell $B$11. What is it and how do I correct or remove it? |

From the help file:-
When a formula refers back to its own cell, either directly or indirectly, it is called a circular reference. "lance559" wrote: Each time I open an excel file the circular reference screen pops up. It references cell $B$11. What is it and how do I correct or remove it? |

Check to see if cell B11 contains a formula, and if it does, see if the
formula references B11. A circular reference is a formula reference that references itself as part of the calculation. -- Kevin Backmann "lance559" wrote: Each time I open an excel file the circular reference screen pops up. It references cell $B$11. What is it and how do I correct or remove it? |

If you have trouble finding the circular reference, maybe Stephen Bullen's
utility will help: http://www.oaltd.co.uk/Excel/Default.htm Look for FindCirc.zip lance559 wrote: Each time I open an excel file the circular reference screen pops up. It references cell $B$11. What is it and how do I correct or remove it? -- Dave Peterson |
