Why do my excel file get corrupted easily?
What are the reasons for causing it to get corrupted? Is there any ways to prevent it? If the file is corrupted, is there any way to revent/recover it? I am using excel 2000 version. |

Hi Mr Tan,
Reasons for file corruption are ... 1. Your hard disk may be infected with virus, 2. Power failure/ improper shutdown while working with the file, 3. Skipping scan disk/ check disk at the starting up of your computer and there may be other reasons like opening an MS-Excel file in MS-Word or notepad and saving etc., Whatever may be the reason, once the file is corrupted, almost you cannot open or recover it. There are some ways which you can try, but it is very difficult 1. Run scandisk/ check disk and correct the disk errors, 2. Use some utilities like Norton Disk Doctor to verify that there are any bad sectors on your hard disk, 3. Scan your computer with a latest good Anti-virus software, 3. You can try to open your Excel file in "Star Office", it also works some times. With kind regards. NAVEEN. "Mr Tan" wrote: Why do my excel file get corrupted easily?
